Borderlands 2 Preliminary Sketch.  I just hit 300 hrs playtime in the game so I wanted to make an artwork of the six Vault Hunters.  Here’s the base line-work. (Check out a better res version on my deviantart)  Gonna touch it up and color it within the next week when Randy Pitchford will be sharing the finished piece on his twitter account.

PS4 vs. Xbox 720: Console Wars
Now that another generation of console systems is around the corner, what gamers have dubbed “The Console Wars,” are about to heat up. Sony has already briefly introduced the world to the firs bit of info regarding the Playstation 4, and now Microsoft is set to reveal the next Xbox next month.
As has happened for every console cycle before (since the days of Sega vs. Nintendo), certain consumers will flock to one of the systems to give it unrelenting praise while seemingly treating its competitor like a plague-bearer. These people, known to man by the derogatory term of “fanboys,” will fervently state their opinions to anyone who they think might listen about why their console of choice is the just and only respectable option, (which generally means anywhere on the internet where one of the consoles are being discussed).

Borderlands 2 set to have a larger,
expansion-sized DLC add-on next year
Gearbox Software has already told fans in the past that the level cap in “Borderlands 2” will eventually rise above the current cap of 50. Yesterday, the developer told IGN that this change will come sometime during the first quarter of 2013. It wasn’t specified whether it will be on the fourth Season Pass DLC or an additional add-on since it has been confirmed that Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt won’t be including a level cap increase when it releases next month. Gearbox has also already stated that more content, including additional character classes, will be making their way to “Borderlands 2” after all first season content has been delivered.
Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software, also tweeted a message yesterday that informed players that they are currently “working on a big add-on/expansion for next year with deeper progression.” Perhaps this larger planned DLC will be when fans will finally be able to raise their characters above level 50 in the game.

Dark Souls II to have dedicated
multiplayer servers, teaser site
launched
Namco Bandai has officially announced the existence of “Dark Souls II” in a release from the Japanese developer last night. From Software has revealed that the sequel to what many fans claim to be one of the hardest games ever created, “Dark Souls II” will be releasing on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. A new teaser website for the game was also launched today, which will inform fans with information from the upcoming title when it becomes available.
Perhaps the most important bit of info given about the upcoming sequel so far is the change to the game’s multiplayer network. In the first “Dark Souls,” gamers connected in a peer-to-peer format with one player hosting the session. “Dark Souls II,” however will feature dedicated game servers that will host all players on a single networked system.
